I'm not in the business of simply taking pretty pictures (Instagram-fatigue, anyone?)

Instead, I want to create art that transports you back to your most important moments. Images that bring you back to the FEELING, just like you experienced it the first time.

And okay, some of the images might look decent on Instagram too...

Please take a look around, and don't hesitate with thoughts or questions. I can't wait to hear from you.

Much love,
Dave Remmen

What inspires me:

- Real people & authentic connections

I'm a sucker for philosophy & pondering the age-old questions of life, purpose, & love.

That's ultimately why I picked up a camera: to document the human experience in all its forms. I find it beautiful, fascinating, and maybe even a way to gain insight into those age-old questions.

I'm honored to work with so many amazing humans. Your story is important. Let's give them one worth remembering.

"The Gods envy us. They envy us because we're mortal...everything is more beautiful because we're doomed. You will never be lovelier than you are now.”

Meet your photographer

- I'm a special snowflake

At least that's what my Mom tells me...

I've always been a dreamer with a curious heart. That curiosity has lead me on quite a varied path:

- I've worked on an ambulance in Seattle
- I've guided at-risk teens in the wilderness of Utah
- I have a Wildlife Biology degree from U of Montana
- I spent my 20's learning wilderness survival skills (yes, I know many people from those survival TV shows). I even spent a year living in a primitive log cabin I built in Oregon

I'm so thankful for the connections I've made along the way and can't wait for the next adventure.

my approach

- This is your day, you call the shots

#1) Your wedding is about you and the connections you cherish most - not the camera. That's why I embrace more of a candid, documentary style rather than posing every little thing.

#2) I'm here to serve throughout your entire wedding process. From getting to know you months before the wedding. To holding your dress off the dirt while we scramble up to that gorgeous mountaintop view. Photos are important, but so is everything else along the way.

#3) Create beautiful images that capture the essence of your day.

That's why I embrace more of a candid, documentary style rather than posing every little thing (though I'm happy to provide guidance for family formals, couple portraits, etc). This way, the final photos will bring back the emotions just as you experienced them...not memories of a photographer forcing you into odd poses.

#2) I'm here to serve throughout your entire wedding process. From getting to know you months before the wedding. To holding your dress off the dirt while we scramble up to that gorgeous mountaintop view. To helping you design the perfect wedding album for your 1 year anniversary. Photos are important, but so is everything else along the way.

#3) Create beautiful images that capture the essence of your day. If your wedding is filled with laughter, dancing, and fun, your gallery will reflect that. Same is true if your experience is quiet, sincere, and sprinkled with tears.
The fun part for me is that most weddings include all of the above. It's my job to catch it all and weave it together in your final gallery.

My top priorities:

Photo style

The photography world is filled with buzzwords, and it can be confusing when they're used inconsistently: documentary style, editorial, true-to-life colors, light & airy, dark & moody, etc.

This confusion doesn't make selecting a photographer any easier (by the way, what if you hire a "light & airy" photographer on a gray, rainy day?)

That said, my photo style tends to lean toward true-to-life colors with a bit of warmth. I do enjoy some drama, and I adore black & white.

Above all, I value capturing authentic human emotion.
